B1 State Exam Preparation

Preparing for the Polish B1 State Exam can feel overwhelming - especially if you’re balancing work, family, and everyday life. That’s exactly why our 0-B1 courses are designed to be practical, structured, and flexible.

Since 2021, we’ve helped over 15,000 students to learn Polish for different needs. Our self-paced, recorded courses allow you to study Polish on your own schedule, revisit lessons whenever you need, and progress without time pressure - making them ideal for busy individuals.

All courses are created by certified teachers and focus specifically on what you need for the B1 State Exam. You can also check our verified student reviews on Trustpilot to see how others experienced learning with us.

Below, we explain how our B1 preparation can support you step by step.

How can we help you to pass the B1 Polish State Exam?

We work differently from traditional language schools-not only because our fees are up to 20× lower, thanks to fully recorded courses (there are no live meetings), but also because our CEFR-aligned program allows you to learn Polish all the way to B1 in under 12 months. Yes, it’s possible-some students have completed our 70+ hours of courses in less than a year.

To prepare for the Polish B1 State Exam, you need to cover three levels: A1, A2, and B1. Whether you choose our school or a more traditional route using standard coursebooks (such as Hurra or Krok po Kroku) is entirely up to you-this is how the process works.

We offer all three levels in a self-paced format, allowing you to study at your own convenience, which makes our courses especially practical for busy learners. Each level includes comprehensive CEFR-based grammar explanations, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Because the courses are recorded, opportunities for live speaking and listening practice are limited. However, with our VIP programs, you can practice speaking by submitting recorded voice notes and receiving feedback.

In total, you will complete:

34 hours at A1,

26 hours at A2, and

18 hours at B1.

This includes video lesson time only-you’ll also need to plan for frequent revision, as well as completing the supporting exercises and PDFs we provide for additional practice.

Our courses provide hands-on practice in grammar, listening, vocabulary, and reading. Since there’s no live interaction, we strongly recommend supplementing your self-paced study with a few 1:1 or group lessons elsewhere whenever you feel ready. This helps focus on individual mistakes, gain extra speaking practice, and fully prepare for the B1 State Exam, which can be challenging.

Courses with support (VIP) include partial speaking and writing practice, but recorded lessons alone cannot cover everything.

About the teachers

The courses were created by Weronika, Head Tutor, who first graduated with first-class honours from the University of South Wales (UK) with a degree in Communication. This helped her master English and deeply understand the real challenges language learners face. A few years later, she completed a postgraduate degree in "Teaching Polish as a Second and Foreign Language" at the University of Vistula in Warsaw, gaining the academic and practical foundation needed to explain Polish grammar clearly and effectively to foreigners.
Weronika has been teaching since 2016. With nearly a decade of teaching experience and knowledge of multiple foreign languages (English, Spanish - B2, Russian - B2, Italian - A2, Azerbaijani A1+, Greek A1), she brings a broad and practical perspective on language acquisition.

All courses and materials have also been reviewed and refined by another tutor you’ll meet inside the course if you choose the feedback option - Eliza, who holds a Master’s degree in Polish Philology from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

Our courses are carefully designed by a professional and experienced team.

How long does it take to learn Polish?

As for timing, it varies from student to student. It’s a very individual matter and depends on several factors, such as:

  • How often you revise,
  • Whether this is your first foreign language or you already know other languages,
  • How quickly you generally learn new material.

At a normal pace, reaching B1 at a traditional school may take 1.5 to 2.5 years due to scheduled sessions.

With our courses, if you study 3–5 hours per week, about 70% of students can complete and fully learn one recorded level in roughly 4–6 months.

How to register for the B1 Polish state exam?

First of all, the number of applicants is larger than the capacity of the exam centers. Places sometimes disappear within a few minutes. You need to find out exactly when the registration opens, at what time, and what the procedures are-what you need to prepare. The systems don’t always work perfectly.

Even if you pay the exam fee, you may not be accepted. It’s important to read the entire website carefully http://certyfikatpolski.pl/ so you don’t get disappointed.

Make sure you check everything thoroughly.

Choose the exam center and date that interest you, and confirm all details directly with the exam center.

The exam consists of five parts:
Speaking
Writing
Grammar
Reading comprehension
Listening comprehension

How to pass the Polish B1 exam?

We suggest signing up for our A1 Bundle with 6-month support. This means you can schedule your study sessions over six months according to your availability and complete the 34-hour video course, along with written exercises and voice-recorded exercises, before the deadline.

This approach helps you identify mistakes and practice speaking, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and partially listening comprehension.

In this first program, our main focus is on building sentences with what you learn, so you can speak confidently, rather than understanding others for the time being. This is completely normal at this level.

You can then continue with our self-paced, recorded 26-hour A2 program with support. This course provides hands-on practice with more real-life listening tasks, as you will already be more confident. You can continue progressing toward B1 level over another 6 months, while we review your assignments and provide feedback.

Finally, the last step is to complete our B1 self-paced, 18-hour recorded Polish course, which runs 100% in Polish. We use synonyms to explain new topics, as by this stage you already know enough Polish to learn through associations. This level focuses on exam-format questions and exercises.

We recommend signing up after completing A2, so you have more support time.

Once you finish the full program, make sure to schedule individual sessions to prepare for the speaking parts of the exam and to address any individual mistakes.

Hope to see you studying with us soon! x
